When We Go Out is an oral history project which aims to record the stories of spaces, groups, and people that make up Philadelphia’s contemporary lesbian/Sapphic history. From Dyketactics in the 1970s all the way up to Sisterspace and softball in the 1980s and on, lesbian networks in Philly have always found a way to thrive in the face of rampant discrimination. Subscribe to get updates on the random, precious things I find along the way in archives, in books, and in interviews. I’ll be sending out a snippet or two every week!

If you’re interested in being interviewed, you can either email me or fill out this form.

This project is supported by the Cultural Preservation Grant from the Kelly Writers House.
